The Machinist

THE MACHINIST (2004)

The Machinist is a film that takes you along with Trevor Reznik as his insanity begins to take over his life. Although terribly disturbing, the film addresses the themes of guilt and consequence and as you’re taken along for the ride you get lost with him as he struggles to make sense of the things he witnesses and experiences. There is no line drawn between reality and nightmare — the two have bled into each other to create this mess of confusion, but a confusion that you can’t help but try to figure out. This isn’t a story of redemption or recovery; this is a story about facing the truth and accepting it.

Definitely one to watch if you’re into psychological thrillers/ mysteries/ dramas/ etc.
