This story is about a boy who, after his parents’ separation, is asked to choose which parent he will live with. As a nine-year-old, that is a question no child should be made to choose. So instead, he chooses not to choose. He believes that by not making a choice, it leaves open the possibility for any outcome. They are endless, and in this realm he can be with both his mother and his father. It doesn’t stop there, this film takes you through the ripples of each of those hypothetical choices deep into the future.
It was spectacular, beautiful, thematic, wonderful. I would watch it over and over again simply for its ability to get carried away with opportunities yet maintain its purpose.
